Homemade Nutritious Pita Bread
I like pita bread and I think is better than regular sandwich bread. Its clean and is an ideal white bread alternative because its usually made with traditional methods, except the ones containing Calcium Propinate ( a mold control agent).
I have designed this mini pocket pita breads with added nutrition power. It only takes 4 minutes hands on and other 15 minutes on a hot iron or pan. It might be nothing you have tasted before, but I promise you is very tasteful, and because is so simple, you might not go back again to traditional pita bread chips or a like.

Mini Pocket Pita Breads (makes 3 medium size)

2 Tbsp. 2 Maca Root powder (benefits here: http://www.naturalnews.com/027797_maca_root_hormone_balance.html)

1 Tbsp. Bulgur fine seeds and not to large (shttp://www.livestrong.com/article/256333-what-are-the-benefits-of-bulgur-wheat/
1/2 Tsp sea salt
Note: The bulgur here is mainly used as a softener agent and to give the dough the stickiness needed to be able to split open the pitas when done)
- Mix all ingredients. Add filtered water in little amounts until smooth. Let the dough stand for a couple of minutes while you preheat the iron or pan; add more water if needed until dough remains to a manageable consistency.
- Form 3 equal size round balls and then flatten one by one (not too thin) while placing them on to the hot preheated pan.
- Cook each side until brown and for at least 15 minutes in total to guarantee readiness in the inside.
Let the pitas cool down before splitting open. Serve with your favorite side or enjoy alone.
