How to make a fresh baguette bread

Baking your own bread is so easy and so much better for your health. Nothing beats the taste of fresh baked bread.  Not only you’ll save money, but you will avoid hidden molds, toxins and dangerous preservatives from common store bought breads.

Here is a simple basic bread to start your own adventure into bread making. BON APPETIT!

Fresh Baguette Bread

1 cup warm water

2 ½ cups of flour

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

1 sachet quick raising yeast

In a bowl put the yeast, warm water and sugar together for 5 minutes.  Add butter and salt and mix. Adding the flour one cup at a time, mix well to incorporate all ingredients.  Knead until the dough appear smooth.  Leave the dough to raise in the bowl and cover with a kitchen towel for 30 minutes.

Punch down and knead again.  Divide the dough in two and roll to make two baguettes of about 13 inches long each. Transfer to a baking sheet and cover again for 1 hour. 

Optional: Brush an egg on top for a golden finish.

Bake at 375 F. for 30-35 min. Remove immediately from oven and cover again with a clean kitchen towel to cool down for few minutes.

Dust your baguettes with some flour or brush with eggs.

Pan Francés o pan canilla

1 taza de agua tibia

2 1/2 taza de harina

1 cucharada de mantequilla derretida

1 cucharada de sal

1 cucharada de azúcar

1 sobre de levadura (Aproximadamente 1 cucharada y media)

Meta la levadura en el agua tibia con el azúcar por 5 minutos. Luego agregar sal y mantequilla.  Agregue el harina poco a poco y amasar muy bien.

Cubra la masa con un paño y déjela reposar por 30 minutos.

Amasar otra vez y dividir la masa en dos para elaborar dos baguettes o canillas. Colocar las baguettes en una bandeja para el horno y cubrir con el paño; dejar reposar por 1 hora más. Hornear a 375 grados por 30-35 minutos.

Pain Baguette

1 tasse eau tiede

2 1/2 tasse farine

1 cuillère à soupe beurre fondu

 1 cuillère à soupe sel

1 cuillère à soupe de sucre

1 sachet de but de levure

Mettre la levure dans l’eau tiède avec le sucre pendant 5 minutes. Ajoutez ensuite le sel et le beurre.  Ajouter la farine peu à peu et pétrir très bien.  Couvrir la pâte avec un linge et laisser reposer pendant 30 minutes.

 Pétrir à nouveau et diviser la pâte en deux pour faire deux baguettes. Placer dans une cuisson les baguettes et couvrir avec un linge ; Laisser reposer pendant 1 heure de plus.

 Cuire au four à 375 degrés pendant 30-35 minutes. 


In Italiano

Pane Baguette

1 tazza di acqua tibia

2 1/2 tazza di farina

1 cucchiaiata di burro sciolta

1 cucchiaiata di sale

1 cucchiaiata di zucchero

1 busta di lievito

 Metta il lievito nell’acqua tiepida con lo zucchero per 5 minuti. Dopo, metta sale e burro. quindi la farina a poco a poco ed impastare molto bene.

Lasciare riposare la massa coprendola con un panno per 30 minuti.

Impastare un’altra volta e dividere la massa in due per elaborare due baguettes o bastoncino. Collocare due pane in un vassoio per il forno e coprire con un panno e lasciare riposare per 1 ora ma.

Infornare a 375 gradi per 30-35 minuti.
