Grocery Shopping Strategy
In the past, food was simple – in other words, it was just food, because it was REAL. Think about it the next time you go shopping for food; take your time to read the ingredients of the products that you usually buy and ask yourself: Do I recognize this ingredient in my food?
I remember struggling in the supermarket with my kids because it took me about 3 hours to shop for groceries. This happened because I was reading every single label of every single product I bought. I went home to research every single food additive and “natural” ingredient of the products, and then found myself switching between many brands when I found something wrong. It’s been crazy! But I’ve learned a lot and since then my health has improved.
We’ve made a new shopping strategy to help you choose healthier products without having to spend your entire day in the market. It’s all about the store layout, follow this route:
Once you enter a store, take a right turn (which you already probably do) and always stick to your far right side, and DO NOT deviate to the aisles even if you think you need something there. You’ll find everything you need to stay healthy all around and to the right of the store path. This strategy will also save you a lot of money! And will keep you away from toxic foods.
Next, choose the less damaging food products from the surrounding walls of your local supermarket. For example, if you’re buying yogurt for your kids, you may be tempted to buy, let’s say, “Dananinos”, which you find among other healthier types of yogurt. You can do this by reading the labels once you have learned through YOU & I COOK what the safe and unsafe ingredients in your food are. Here’s a tip: the simpler the ingredients, the safer the food will be. If you can’t pronounce it, don’t buy it. So next time you buy yogurt for your kids do this: STOP, READ, DON’T THINK MUCH, and choose ingredients labeled like this: cultured milk. And at the most, it can contain added live cultures. Believe me, the rest is junk…..Are you ready to free your family from junk food additives?????
Remember that YOU & I COOK is committed to inform families
